Internet Safety: Parents, Guardians & Community Presentation by NCMEC (Virtual)

April 29 | 5:30 pm 6:30 pm

In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Safe Shores invited the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to facilitate a presentation for parents, guardians, and the general community who are interested in keeping kids safe on the internet.

Do you know how to have preventive conversations with your children to keep them safe online? This presentation will provide information about online risks, but most importantly, it will offer useful guidance to help you and your children develop prevention skills.

In the presentation, you will learn tips for establishing age-appropriate conversations with your children about online activities and risks, how to develop preventive skills in your children, such as critical thinking, asking for help, and identifying safe adults in their lives. Additionally, you’ll learn characteristics of how to be a safe adult and ways to demonstrate your commitment to protecting your children.
