Safe Shores’ Pack2School Drive is here for 2021, and we’re excited to announce that this year’s drive will be implemented online and in person! We are once again counting on you to ensure that the children we serve have the tools they need for school in the fall.
Last year’s drive was done very differently as online learning became necessary in the midst of the pandemic. Not only did we send backpacks with supplies directly to 134 of our clients’ homes, but we also provided laptops and tablets to those children who needed them. Your support was tremendous – despite not being able to shop directly for our clients, you still made it possible for Safe Shores to take care of every child during incredibly difficult circumstances. As children transition back into the classroom for the 2021-2022 school year, your support is just as critical.
This year, Safe Shores will serve at least 150 clients. Here’s how you can get involved in Pack2School 2021:
1. Sponsor a school supply list or lists. To become a sponsor, complete the Pack2School Sponsor Request Form by Monday, July 19th. Sponsors will shop and drop off needed supplies from their list at our Bundy Building on O Street.
2. Make a monetary donation in support of the drive at safeshores.org/donate (please note “Pack2School” in the comments). Monetary donations are imperative for serving clients who cannot pick up their school supplies in person. Safe Shores will arrange to send supplies directly to these children’s homes.
For more information, please see our FAQ Sheet.
As Safe Shores continues to prioritize health and safety, Pack2School 2021 will not include packing parties or externally organized school supplies drives. Nevertheless, we are so excited to see some familiar faces once again. Through your support, we will equip our clients with the essential tools they need to return to school in person, and that is a huge feat.
We look forward to your participation!
