Message Regarding Our COVID-19 Policies

Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center is committed to being a safe, helpful, and trustworthy resource, available to everyone who needs our services and support. Due to COVID-19, we are observing federal and local government public health protection guidelines. Upon arrival, visitors will complete a COVID-19 screening (questions and temperature check) and may be asked to wear a mask. If you have recently had COVID-19, you must wear a mask on the premises for the full 10 days from the date of exposure or infection, consistent with DC Health Department and CDC guidance.

Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Safe Shores! 

We want to ensure all Safe Shores volunteers are prepared to succeed at supporting our work with children and families who have survived child sexual abuse and other traumas.  Before being considered for a volunteer position, all applicants must complete the steps listed below to ensure they are oriented to Safe Shores’ work and have the skills to be effective.  While we do not currently have any openings, completing these steps now will ensure you are ready to fill a position when needed.

All volunteers must:

  1. Attend a Coffee for Kids tour of our mission
  2. Participate in a Stewards of Children’s®  child sexual abuse prevention training
