Keep Kids Safe – Hill Day

April 25, 2023 - April 26, 2023

On April 25th and 26th, the Keep Kids Safe Movement and its coalition partners will convene in Washington, D.C. to meet with key stakeholders and advance both the National Blueprint and the principles of Prevention, Healing, and Justice.

Executive Director Michele Booth Cole will represent Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center as a part of this coalition at the White House visit and Capitol Hill roundtable.

The KKS Hill Day is a unique survivor-led and coalition-driven advocacy event dedicated to raising awareness of sexual violence against children and adolescents, advocating on behalf of children and survivors, and advancing policy priorities.

The event is intended to achieve the following goals:

  • -Introduce the National Blueprint to key lawmakers and administration officials.
  • -Establish relationships with legislative staffers and administration officials.
  • -Provide survivor-advocates with a platform to use their voices.
  • -Demonstrate the coordination ability for the KKS coalition and broader movement.
  • -Build rapport between KKS Steering Group members, partner organizations, and survivor-advocates.
The general public can show their support by attending the Keep Kids Safe Rally on Wednesday, April 26th at 2 PM. Register at this link.
