During April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month 2026, Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center and DC Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America called for 500 adults to be trained in child abuse prevention techniques for free. Community members and organizations answered the call, with 677 participants attending a training!
Although Child Abuse Prevention Month is over, the need for a community of safe, trusted adults is ongoing. Children are safer when the adults around them know what to do. Prevention works. And it is an adult’s responsibility. Join us for one of our upcoming child abuse prevention trainings to continue to show up for children in our community and be one in 500, 1000, 10,000 and beyond.
