She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®). \n  \n \n  \nAlejandra Monroy (she/her) \nBilingual Prevention Specialist  | Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center  \nAlejandra Monroy currently serves as the Bilingual Prevention Specialist at Safe Shores – The D.C. Children’s Advocacy Center. Alejandra is a certified facilitator of evidence-based curriculum for Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children®\, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training\, and from Prevent Child Abuse Vermont’s in Healthy Relationships Project and Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development™. Alejandra is also a Spanish Caregiver Support Group facilitator\, a psychoeducational curriculum for caregivers of children who have experienced abuse. Before fully transitioning into a Prevention Specialist\, Alejandra served as a Bilingual Family Advocate\, providing crisis intervention\, support\, and resources to Spanish-speaking\, non-offending caregivers during the family’s child abuse investigation process. \nAlejandra has expertise in developing curricula and workshops on various topics such as social media safety for children\, nutrition\, stress\, knowing your rights\, finances\, and housing rights. She has dedicated her professional career to helping vulnerable communities in the DMV with many issues including housing rights\, public health issues\, immigration\, and social services. Alejandra completed the Health and Public Interest Master of Science Program at Georgetown University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland\, College Park.

Additionally\, Natalie co-facilites Safe Shores’ Spanish Caregiver Support Group that serves non-offending caregivers of children who have experienced sexual abuse. Natalie is trained in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 18 and utilizes a combination of play therapy within treatment. \n  \n \nSharde McConnell (she/her) \nManager of Client Advocacy Services | Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center \nSharde McConnell is the Manager of Client Advocacy Services and has served clients through Safe Shores’ Advocacy program for over seven years. She is an advocate for children and families\, a tremendous ally and supporter of parents\, and a source of positivity and optimism for colleagues and loved ones. She is passionate about physical\, mental\, and spiritual health and has a particular interest in astrology and feng shui\, two tools for aligning with the natural flow of energy. Sharde has immense love and gratitude for animals and believes that with teamwork\, adults have the power to shift culture in a way that establishes safety and empowers children by valuing their human dignity. \n  \n \nKalphria Wilson\, LICSW  (she/her) \nManager\, Multidisciplinary Team Advancement and Support   | Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center  \nKalphria Wilson (she/her) began working at Safe Shores in July 2016 as a Family Advocate and transitioned to the role of Manager of MDT Advancement and Support in March 2020. In this role\, Kalphria provides enhanced coordination between Safe Shores and the multidisciplinary Team to ensure timely resolutions\, efficient communications\, and information sharing for child abuse investigations. Previously\, she has provided over six years of trauma-informed clinical case management to children and families throughout the District of Columbia.  Kalphria has obtained a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland-Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Florida State University.  She is also a Licensed Individual Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia. \n  \n \nRachel Booker (she/her)\nForensic Services Program Director  | Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center  \nRachel Booker serves as the Forensic Services Program Director and conducts forensic interviews at Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center. Rachel has conducted hundreds of forensic interviews with children regarding sexual abuse\, physical abuse\, and the witnessing of violence. \nRachel has been trained in this highly specialized field and has completed the internationally recognized National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) Forensic Interview Training and the NCAC Advanced Forensic Interview Training.  Further\, she has enhanced her skills through training provided by the National Criminal Justice Training Center and the FBI on topics related to her work\, including child sex trafficking forensic interviewing\, presenting evidence in child forensic interviews\, and the multidisciplinary team response to child sex trafficking. DESCRIPTION:Writing to Wellness™ is a discussion-based workshop designed to use poetry as a tool for healing. Participants will learn helpful tips via discussion on how to navigate healing through expressive forms of creative writing\, how to advocate for others and how to build a safe space for self-care.  \nWriting to Wellness™ was founded and created by C. He has mesmerized audiences at Angelina College\, Howard University\, Prince George’s Community College\, Thomas Jefferson University\, Busboys and Poets (as a featured poet and host)\, Studio 2001 Art Gallery\, The Athenaeum\, and the Torpedo Art Factory\, just to name a few. \nHis work as a community organizer has afforded him opportunities to educate adults on how to respond and react to Child Sexual Abuse through Safe Shores-The DC Children’s Advocacy Center\, Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children® and serving as a board member for Touch Me I’m Tellin’ (TMIT). In addition\, he has received honorable mentions from World Childhood Foundation USA\, Buddy Speaks\, End the Harvest Ministries\, publications by The Zebra\, and more. \nA true force of nature and a necessary voice for uplifting the community and inspiring hope.
